Got A Muffin Top? 2 Tips To Make It Go Away

If you put on a pair of pants and have a roll of fat above where you button or zip them, this is known as a muffin top. This bulge sticks out far enough that it can be seen if you wear tight shirts, dresses, etc. This fat can also be hard to get rid of no matter how much you exercise or diet. Fortunately, there are treatment options to help it go away, two of which are listed below.

Coolsculpting is a procedure that removes fat in different areas of the body, including the upper abdomen. You will also hear this referred to as cryolipolysis. The treatment uses temperatures that are around freezing to break down the fat cells. Your skin or other tissues will not be damaged with this treatment as the cold only affects fat cells.

You are asked to lie down on a table. The practitioner uses a device and rubs it over the fatty tissue, which causes the fat cells to cool and then break down. You generally do not feel pain because the temperatures are so cold.

How long the process works will depend on how much fat you have but generally it lasts about an hour or so. There is no recovery period because no cuts are made to your skin. You may feel a little pain, such as muscle soreness, but this goes away in a few days. It will take a few months for all the fat cells to leave your body. If you do not stay on a diet, new fat cells can grow, and your muffin top can come back.

Liposuction is a surgical treatment to remove fat cells from different areas of the body.  The doctor will use some type of anesthesia, which may be general anesthesia, intravenous sedation, or local anesthesia. They also inject a saline solution in the fatty area where the doctor will be using liposuction. The saline is a medication to help you feel less pain after the procedure is over.

A doctor makes small cuts in the fatty area and then inserts a small hollow tube through the cut. This tube attaches to a vacuum that is used to suck the fat out of your abdomen.

This is a surgical procedure, and it will take you a few days to recover. The surgeon will give you instructions to follow. You may have to wear a bandage around your abdomen for a few days and limit certain activities, such as exercising, for a few weeks.

Both these procedures will work well to remove your muffin top so you can feel more comfortable while wearing pants.

Looks and Cosmetic Procedures

How strongly would you say you care about your looks? Some people quickly admit that they care a lot about their appearance, and others are quick to shrug off the mere suggestion that looks matter. At the end of the day, there's a lot of room for opinion here. However, one thing is for sure: looks do matter to some extent. How you look — or even how you think you look — determines your sense of confidence. And your sense of confidence relates to how you move through the world. Here on this blog, we will write about cosmetic procedures, which impact a person's looks. We hope you enjoy what you read while keeping the above information in mind, too.
